Welcome to the Festival Angel volunteer page for 2017.
Introduction: See this page for an introduction to Festival Angels and volunteering. Application Form: Please complete the on-line form (on the left - this form is 4 pages long, only when you press submit will the form reach us!). If you are unsure as to what dates you can commit to please let us know as soon as you can. The closing date for applications is 31st July 2017 OR when we reach our limit of 170 volunteers. Aims and Objectives: The aim of Festival Angels is to offer a Christian presence and expressions of Christian service to all those attending and working at the Leeds festival. Festival Angels will seek to respond to need, be it physical, social, emotional or spiritual and share in the life journeys of those present through encounter and service. The presence of the Festival Angels will be known by differing means e.g.
Prayer is a central focus of the Festival Angel’s activity and the Prayer Tent acts both as a place sanctuary and encounter. This space will help to creatively engage festival goers in expressing their faith and sharing in the faith of others. Festival Angels runs Wednesday 23rd - Monday 28th August 2017. Code of Practice: Festival Angels will be Christians or people willing to work within the Christian ethos, aged 18+. They will agree to undertake appropriate training as determined by the Festival Angels steering group. During their time on the Festival site they should regard themselves as an ambassador of Festival Angels and more importantly Christ and conduct themselves appropriately. Before being accepted to serve on the team, every Festival Angel must provide the name and contact details of an appropriate referee. The conditions of the festival organisers licence are such that we cannot use volunteers who fail a Police National Computer (PNC) check. Those with traffic offences are probably OK, but those with a more colourful past, sadly may not be accepted. Welcome to Festival Angels information sheet (2016 so for information only at this stage) Festival Angels’ dates for your diary There will be a meeting in June/July 2017 for new volunteers (and previous volunteers who enjoy pizza and meeting up with everyone) and a final briefing and pizza on Tuesday 22nd August 2017.
